Embodying Your Narrative A Writer’s Workshop

Taught by Audrey Minutolo Le

July 1925, 2020

Immerse yourself in this week-long writing intensive workshop that will help guide you more deeply into your narrative voice. Our week together will include morning pages, reading, writing and creative movement to discover the elements of compelling narratives. We will examine arc-of-story in many forms including in poetry, short stories, music and dance to understand how characterization, motivation, theme, pacing, conflict, flow and coda function together in any creative body of work. Drawing on our beautiful surroundings, we will delve into the creative process: some days we will employ proprioceptive (meditative) writing to get to the core of our creative self; other days we will use morning pages and movement as a precursor to the writing process. In a workshop setting, students will collectively revise, shape and polish their writing to bring a sense of completion to their written work.
